CARTIF Technology Centre
CARTIF is a private, horizontal, and non-profit research institution whose main mission is to provide industry with innovative solutions that enhance processes, systems, and products — improving competitiveness and creating new business opportunities.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
CARTIF is the project coordinator and leads activities focused on digital tools for efficient, circular and sustainable design and construction. The team brings expertise in BIM-based modelling, energy simulation, and digital interoperability. It is responsible for the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI)-aligned catalogue of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), the BIM upgrading and enrichment tool, the AI/SRI-based services for proactive building operation and maintenance, and the advanced BIM2BEM procedures supporting energy-efficient design.
Mostostal Warszawa
Mostostal Warszawa is one of the largest construction companies in Poland. As the general contractor, it invests in all key sectors of the construction market in Poland and abroad.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
Mostostal Warszawa brings deep expertise in openBIM standardisation (IFC, bSDD, IDS) and information delivery planning. The organisation is responsible for mapping data requirements to construction workflows and defining the Level of Information Need (LOIN). Furthermore, it drives the technical alignment of the DTERBIM Toolkit, ensuring all tools and Digital Twins communicate effectively through a unified Common Data Environment.
University College London (UCL)
University College London (UCL) is ranked 9th worldwide (QS 2026) and 2nd in the UK for research power (REF 2021). The Bartlett’s School of Environment, Energy & Resources (BSEER) unites four institutes — Energy, Environmental Design & Engineering, Sustainable Resources, and Sustainable Heritage — within a faculty ranked 1st globally for Architecture & Built Environment (QS 2025).
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
In DTERBIM, UCL is leading work on information quality and semantic integration, ensuring that the data feeding the project’s digital services is structured, complete, and interoperable. Its role focuses on maintaining data sufficiency and consistency across BIM models, developing automated quality assurance methods, and establishing shared standards for reliable information exchange. UCL also advances semantic enrichment techniques that connect different types of data.
ICCS - NTUA
The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was founded in 1989. Over time, ICCS/NTUA has grown into one of Europe’s leading research institutes, employing more than 500 highly skilled engineers and scientists. It maintains strong collaborations with top-ranked universities, research organisations, and industry partners across Europe and worldwide.

Through the Decision Support Systems Laboratory (EPU-NTUA), ICCS–NTUA contributes leading expertise in AI-driven analytics, digital twins, and data interoperability for smart and sustainable buildings. Within DTERBIM, ICCS–NTUA leads activities in digital tools for optimal operation, maintenance, and deconstruction, and development of an Early Design Tool, which enables data-informed design decisions to enhance energy efficiency, circularity, and comfort from the earliest project stages.
CEMOSA
Established in 1972, CEMOSA is an engineering consultancy and quality control company operating in the civil and industrial engineering sectors, including transport and building services. Its headquarters are in Malaga (Spain), and it includes 14 national and 12 international offices that provide services across Europe, America, and Asia.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
CEMOSA services include structural design, geotechnical engineering, project management, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Twins to optimise construction processes and asset performance.
Within DTERBIM, CEMOSA leads the development of Building Digital Twin and Sustainable Twin solutions to enhance building efficiency, develops an application for smart quality control, and oversees pilot preparation and data collection.
CYPE
CYPE specialises in developing BIM simulation software and ensuring regulatory compliance across all phases of the construction lifecycle. The application ecosystem is interconnected via the cloud, enabling collaborative development of complex projects with real-time synchronisation.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
CYPE provides the OpenBIM framework for DTERBIM. Its BIMserver.center platform and API will host project data and connect tools throughout the renovation process.
Contecht GmbH
Contecht GmbH is a Berlin-based SME specialising in BIM, GIS, and Digital Twin software development. The company provides consulting and web-based solutions for the AEC/FM sector, focusing on interoperability, OpenBIM integration, and the digital transformation of building processes.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
Within DTERBIM, Contecht contributes to the development of BIM-based tools supporting circular construction and renovation, data quality verification, and 4D planning. The company ensures seamless integration of digital workflows within the OpenBIM framework and the Construction Digital Twin platform, enabling efficient and interoperable project delivery.
Live Information System (LIS)
LIS, an innovative startup and Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) spin-off, is developing a software platform to transform buildings into intelligent, sensor-enabled structures, enhancing both occupant well-being and the sustainability of the built environment.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
LIS integrates BIM methodologies to create dynamic, standalone models that support full Digital Twin transformation. Its platform provides dynamic data from a common data environment and offers an interoperability layer that connects diverse technologies while ensuring data security and system protection. The LIS Platform unifies all models and demonstrates advanced digital solutions tailored to the AEC sector.
Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE)
The Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE) is a leading independent centre of expertise on the energy performance of buildings. BPIE advances the transition towards a climate-neutral built environment in Europe and beyond through research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
BPIE is Europe’s leading centre of expertise on decarbonising the built environment, providing independent analysis, knowledge dissemination, and evidence-based policy advice and implementation support to decision-makers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Within DTERBIM, BPIE oversees research, communication and dissemination activities.

Acciona Construcción is the construction division of the Acciona Group, dedicated to building and infrastructure projects worldwide. With more than a century of experience, the company has established itself as a leader in the sector through its ability to deliver complex, high-impact projects. Acciona Construcción is committed to research, development, and innovation (RDI) to enhance efficiency and safety across all its activities. Sustainability principles are integrated into every phase, reducing environmental impact and advancing the low-carbon transition.

Within DTERBIM, Acciona Construcción coordinates demonstration activities, including defining use cases and implementing the DTERBIM methodology in real pilot projects. The company also provides industry-based requirements and validation for the project’s tools and services, ensuring that the outcomes are practical, scalable, and aligned with the construction sector’s needs.
GEOTER
GEOTER is a company offering energy management and efficient environmental solutions for the utilisation of natural resources through renewable energy. It has extensive experience in the geothermal energy sector, with more than 20 MW of thermal power installed and over 200,000 metres drilled. The company has completed installations across various sectors (residential, industrial, and institutional) and has participated in multiple research and innovation projects in the energy field.
GEOTER is strongly committed to R&D, continuously advancing energy-efficiency solutions, renewable energy integration, and sustainable energy processes. It also collaborates with national and international technology platforms and several universities.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
GEOTER brings expertise in the design, production, distribution, optimisation, and monitoring of renewable energy systems. Within DTERBIM, the company will analyse challenges and improvement opportunities, assessing their impacts to integrate this information into the BIM models.
GEOTER will also play a key role in the Spanish pilot for the Electra building, contributing to the design and optimisation of the geothermal field, the layout of the technical room, system schemes, SRI-related aspects, adaptation to a historic building, and subsoil analysis.
FASADA
FASADA is a Polish SME with over 20 years of experience in construction and renovation, providing reliable, high-quality services to general contractors, real estate investors, public authorities, municipalities, and building administrators. The company combines strong technical expertise with a commitment to quality and client satisfaction, supporting clients throughout the entire project lifecycle — from design and scenario selection to full execution.

Building on its practical experience in construction and renovation, as well as its expertise in digitalisation and BIM modelling, FASADA will coordinate validation and demonstration activities to ensure the effective implementation and evaluation of the project’s outcomes.
Warsaw University of Technology
Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) and its Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) were founded in 1826, making it both the oldest and one of the most prestigious technical universities in Poland. For seventeen years, WUT has ranked first in its category among Polish universities. The university hosts over 160 student research groups, organisations, and associations, and offers a broad range of study programmes, including courses taught in English.

As a pilot case owner, the Faculty of Civil Engineering brings extensive experience in BIM education across both ordinary and post-diploma studies. The planned renovation and partial demolition of the FCE building provide an ideal case study for implementing the DTERBIM toolkit and for stakeholder engagement, allowing the project to test its methodology in a real-world, dual-use context.
Hellenic Passive House Institute
The Hellenic Passive House Institute (HPHI) supports stakeholders in the building construction sector and the general public by providing comprehensive, impartial information on the design and implementation of Passivhaus buildings. Its activities include producing informational material, organising seminars and conferences, conducting scientific research, and certifying completed Passivhaus projects. HPHI also offers advanced training, promotes expertise in passive building systems, and supports the design, construction, and certification of new and existing buildings. The institute actively participates in national and EU policy dialogue and collaborates with public, private, and social actors to promote energy efficiency as a cornerstone of climate action.
Expertise and role in DTERBIM
HPHI serves as the pilot leader and energy consultant for the Greek pilot in Pallini, Athens, which will house a kindergarten and an elementary school, both designed and constructed as certified Passivhaus and Positive Energy Buildings.
In this role, HPHI ensures that the project’s design and construction meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, comfort, and sustainability, fully adapted to the Mediterranean climate. Collaborating closely with our Greek partners, Urban Soul Project (architectural lead) and SmartFlex (AI-based software developer), HPHI bridges the gap between digital design and real-world construction, integrating BIM and Passive House methodologies.
Under HPHI’s coordination, the Greek pilot will achieve approximately 80% of its design through BIM and DTERBIM digital tools, enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability. HPHI also contributes to the development of the Early Design Tool, supporting data-driven design optimisation and digital innovation for educational buildings.
Urban Soul Project (USP)
Urban Soul Project (USP) is an architectural design firm specialising in buildings, interiors, and product design. With 110 members in Greece — 80 in Thessaloniki and 30 in Athens — USP has established itself as a prominent player in the industry. The firm has received recognition from prestigious institutions such as the German Design Awards, Grand Prix DU Design Awards, and Architizer A+ Awards, and its work has been featured in numerous local and international publications. Notably, in 2019, USP was included in the “40 under 40” list of the most innovative young European architects and designers.

USP brings expertise in integrated design, BIM-based processes, and sustainable building solutions. Within DTERBIM, the firm leads the architectural development of the Greek pilot, contributing its skills in digital design workflows, BIM modelling, and data-driven construction processes. USP ensures the pilot’s architectural and digital integration, bridging design excellence with technological innovation across the consortium.

SmartFlex is a Greek SME specialising in IoT, AI, Big Data, and cybersecurity. The company provides innovative digital solutions for the energy sector, smart buildings, grids, and cities, supporting efficiency, sustainability, and resilience. Driven by innovation and customer focus, SmartFlex helps businesses, utilities, and communities accelerate their digital and green transitions.
