Overview

Located in the Pallini region, near Athens, this pilot involves the design and construction of a new Passivhaus-certified, Positive Energy Building that will host a kindergarten and an elementary school. Coordinated by the Hellenic Passive House Institute (HPHI), the project demonstrates how advanced energy efficiency and sustainability principles can be successfully adapted to the Mediterranean climate. The school’s design focuses on comfort, accessibility, and minimal energy demand, creating a modern educational environment that embodies the future of green, low-carbon construction.

Demonstration focus

This pilot demonstrates how DTERBIM’s digital and data-driven tools support the full lifecycle of a new educational building, ensuring interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability through openBIM.

Key activities

The SRI-aligned ECM catalogue and early design tool will enable adaptable construction scenarios, reducing design errors and material waste.

The Digital Building Logbook (DBL) will standardise the handover process, enabling informed decision-making and improving energy efficiency.

The Building Digital Twin (BDT), combined with AI-powered services, will analyse historical data to predict and optimise future energy consumption.
